1. BashaPop controls creation, contents, changing, and destroying of browser windows in the system. When a browser window has changed its contents, BashaPop selects its title and URL and checks these in the predefined Black list. The Black list is the list of unwanted windows' titles and URL's. If either title or URL is in the Black list, depending of application settings, it attempts to kill this window. 

   "Smart" algorithm allows BashaPop to detect the most common popup windows even if they are not in the Black list.

   There is a White list option as well. If a popup window's title or URL is on the White list, this window will not be killed, even if this window's title or URL exists in the Black list as well. The user can configure the White list in the "Property" dialog.Back to TOP

2. BashaPop is very simple to use. The first time you launch it, BashaPop automatically starts to detect browser windows in the system. By default, BashaPop starts in simple mode this first time. Back to TOP

3. BashaPop can work in simple and advanced modes. Simple mode exposes a light interface for the user. Advanced mode enables the user to use all the power of BashaPop. These modes do not change detection parameters but only show different interfaces for the user. Simple mode has only two switch buttons that enable or disable detection, but advanced mode provides the user with an interface to manage lists.

   There are two switch buttons in the bottom of the BashaPop window (see below). These buttons allow the user to change modes.Back to TOP

4. The list of detected popup windows shows all browser windows than have been detected at that moment. It automatically updates its contents when a browser window changes contents. Every string in the list shows one detected browser window. The list has two columns. The first column represents the window title; the second column is for detected URL's. If a URL was not previously detected for the specified browser window, this column will contain "<undefined>" string.

   The picture below demonstrates the list of detected browser windows in operation. 

   Note: This list will not show detected browser windows if you have previously disabled detection. See: Enabling and disabling detection.Back to TOP

5. The Black list stores titles and URL's of possible unwanted popups. BashaPop checks the title and URL of newly detected popup windows in the Black list. If either the title or URL of this popup is on the Black list, BashaPop marks this window to be destroyed.

   The White list stores titles and URL's of allowed popup windows. If a popup window is on the White list, it will not be destroyed, even if it was previously detected by "Smart" algorithm.Back to TOP

6. Every effort has been put forth to to keep BashaPop up-to-date. Our software currently detects and stops 95% of all popups, although the constant efforts of webmasters to show unwanted ads continuously challenge us to rewrite the software to keep up. Back to TOP

7. "Smart" is a special algorithm that enables BashaPop to automatically detect the most common popup windows. The "Smart" engine always functions in simple mode. If BashaPop is switched to advanced mode, the "Smart" engine is off. The user can switch it on in the properties dialog (right-click on the BashaPop icon in the system tray and choose the "properties" menu). Back to TOP
